Gold Country Endurance Ride
The Gold Country 30/50, usually held in the Fall is
scheduled for July 21st this year. This ride is put on by the Gold Country
Endurance Riders Club. If you've never done this ride before, you're in
for a real treat. If you have, then you know what to expect. As
usual, camping is at the Dru Barner campground in Georgetown, Ca. This is
a beautiful forested area with paved roads into camp. Elevation is about
3500 with climbs on the ride to 4500-5000'.
Five of the best vets around will be working the
ride, along with many volunteers from the club. Vet checks have helpers to
assist you, bran mashes and two kinds of hay, apples and carrots for
your horses and snacks and drinks for riders. The lunch stop
crew bakes chocolate chip cookies, so prepare to be spoiled. This is a
challenging ride with beautiful trails that wind through the pines. If
you're doing Tevis, the 30 miler would be a great elevation ride for you and
your horse. Come and join us for a great endurance experience.
