Old Dominion/a few details

All I know from the OD (from Debi Gordon)

I rode in the 50 and know more about that race but can tell you the first two
finishers of the 100.  Stagg Newman rode Jayel Super across the finish line
around 8:30 p.m.  They both looked "super."  Kathy Schenk (don't remember
horse name) finished second 15 minutes later.  I wasn't there for the morning
results and awards, so that's all I know about the 100.  Because the weather
was uncharacteristically wonderful (not hot and humid) there were less
metabolic pulls in all the rides (25, 50, and 100).  Around 40 horses started
the 100.

Eighty horses started the 50 mile race.  There were 61 left standing when it
was over.  A completion rate of 75 per cent is phenomenal on that very tough
course.  Nearly every pull was for lameness according to head vet Art King.
Mary Murphy and Duane Barnett charged across the finish line in pretty
dramatic fashion (according to witnesses).  Mary won by a neck or so.  Their
finish time was exactly six hours.  Eight minutes later Kelly (forgot last
name) and I galloped in less dramatically.  She was third.  I was fourth and
riding a horse I bred and raised --USA Maverick--and was thrilled with his
performance.  It was just his second 50 miler.  In fifth was Laurie (forgot
again) followed by John Crandall Jr.  John's horse won the best condition
award.  I apologize, but the rest of the order is a bit fuzzy.  I'm sure
others will report in after catching up on some sleep.

My son's high school graduation begins soon so gotta go.  Wish I knew more.
