Hi Sharon,
I have used easy-boots on my horses for both conditioning and competing
since 1995.  Although there have been some marks on the outside of the
hoofs from the teeth and the clamp, the damage has been superficial and
has never caused any problems.  My horses have very healthy feet, and I
am sure some of the reason is that they are barefoot most of the time.
