I have often wondered and the number of rabid posts by people who were not 
even there.  As in Tevis and the death of the horse at Oakland Hills.  I have 
heard that the Pacific Slab check was shut down to treat a horse which is 
absolutely not true.  One of the two vets there at all times did treat a 
horse but the other vet continued with the check.  Maybe they should have 
waited until all the riders got through and then treated the horse, provided 
it was still alive.  Also, when 20 or 30 riders come in at about the same 
time, you do have a long line.  Deal with it.  If you are riding that close 
to the cut offs, you are simply riding too slow....maryben
