Putting weight on extremely finicky horse

to have access to PERMANENT GREEN PASTURE. Several friends have their horses
 on that, and no matter
how much they train and condition, their horses are always on the fat side!
They have to take the horses OFF it, can't be on 24 hours a day.

Now, here again I think genes may play a role.... I have two stallions, both
on lush green pasture 24/7. Dancer is fat and conditioning for endurance and
Goldust is skinny and he gets fed grain, hay and does nothing. Dancer's
parents were easy keepers and his foals are easy keepers. Some horses you
feed nothing to and they will stay pleasantly plump, others you can feed
constantly and they will stay lean. I suppose it is like humans, all to do
with their metobilism.

But I do agree that if you find something they like, then give it to them.
