Nikki, your information is right on. And yes, in horses, far too much
Banamine is given without determining hydration status at rides, and CAN
contribute to further crashing. Best thing is to hook up that IV and THEN
give the Banamine if needed--unless you are dealing with something that
happened early in the ride and ALL hydration parameters are good. (Even
then, fluids are usually a big help.)
