Easy boots and silicone

My mare has lost a shoe and can only be reshod on the weekend although I
want to continue riding, my area is not rocky and previously I would have
pulled the other shoe and rode barefoot until the farrier can do her BUT her
feet are too short to risk any wear!!! I have an easy boot but no easy foam,
so can I use silicone instead to help it stay on? I don't want to wear it as
is because we have had torrential rain and there is mud everywere.
