The VBS.kak.worm strikes again in this post (from Dyane Smith). If you are
using Outlook
Express and have failed to install the "scriptlet.typelib/Eyedog" patch from
Microsoft (see
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/bulletin/ms99-032.asp), this worm
will be transmitted to your machine by simply looking at the e-mail in the
preview screen. For more details, see
http://www.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/wscript.kakworm.html for more
details. With the patch installed, a warning that the message contains an
unsafe active-X control pops up and the worm is not transmitted to your
system. If you have previewed this message and did not see the warning, then
you have not installed the patch (or your security settings are set too low)
and you are now infected.
