Vision & Impact
World class horse lovers will converge in Central Oregon.
This event will bring horse lovers from all over the world to Central Oregon, known for unsurpassed beauty and recreation. And, the weather here in mid-September is perfect.
We'll have a full moon, to boot.
The Race Committee spent 3 years designing a spectacular course that includes scenic trails around a volcanic crater with 2 beautiful lakes. Most visitors will be here for the first time, staying at least one week. Because of their interest in horses and travel, they'll be especially interested in our history, scenic beauty and goods. The Championship will attract about 2,000 people, with a major economic impact to Central Oregon. This is an outstanding opportunity to show off Oregon's prime recreation region.
Hundreds expected to participate
The Championship will bring riders, support teams and spectators from all over the US, Canada and several countries. Each of 5 US zones, the 2 Canadian zones, and each country may bring 6 horses and riders. We expect about 60 actual participants, along with several hundred support people, crews and volunteers. We also expect several hundred spectators and extensive media coverage.
