He's Come Far - June 22

We changed the bandages again today. The wound is beginning to close and it looks like we are making progress. There was some proud flesh starting to grow, which Dr. Sickler shaved off with a blade. It was interesting to see how there was no sensation in the proud flesh – and almost no blood. Stacey did not sedate him and he hardly reacted at all. When she shaved the flesh back down to skin level, the blood really poured. She is pleased with the way the wound looks, still thinks he will be sound and still thinks we can manage some of the thickening in the joint with DMSO gel later.
