tying-up

Is there any genetic component to a horse tying-up?  I am looking at a 4 
yr. old filly whose dam has completed a lot of 100 mile rides.  But she 
also did not finish several because of tying-up.  It was early onset, 
shortly after starting the ride.  Should I be concerned about purchasing 
this filly as she could have a genetic disposition to tyup also?
