This reminds me of the time I was working with my 2 yr old to cross water.
Had gone out with a friend who rode her horse across a very small stream. I
stepped across, & the colt followed me very gingerly --- my friend broke out
laughing as the colt had very carefully placed his feet exactly where I had
stepped thru the stream. At least he hadn't jumped --- which if you lead a
horse across water, do be careful to quickly step aside so the horse has a
landing area if it does jump. Another friend got knocked over when her filly
jumped a stream she was trying to lead it across.
Good luck!
