Hi Heidi Yes actually I used to give Hal a little extra but no need anymore. Hal had an injury to his leg and until we can have Charlie Boles fuse the joint we have to keep his weight down and keep him confined. I doubt he is much over 1000 pounds now I am sad to say. We are waiting until Hal either becomes resigned to his lack of activity and will accept a cast or Charlie tells me we will have to collect the heck out of him and then freeze it and geld him . Stallions usually do not do well with casts and I am attempting to give the boy a chance to save his huevos. He still looks beautiful. He simply has no muscling anymore and we have to watch his weight until surgery. He was in the arena one day playing and bucked high in the air and came down badly. He tore the ligament which stabilized the bones in the fetlock on the outside left. Although it has grown back (with a little calcification) the movement in there caused his disk to wear down and he has bone on bone. That is what kept him from the Olympics.Any suggestions?
