I can only take those sport drinks diluted with water (half and half) and have found that having a good cold (even warmish) "meal replacement" kind of drink based in milk (Slim Fast, Carnation Instant Breakfast, etc.) at a vet check really keeps me going! I simply can't eat a lot of junk food (heck, not any!) and am often too wired to eat a sandwich or anything of substance. Given a choice, I would really rather have iced tea on the trail but on a hot day, I can't stand to drink it if it's warm. I have heard though that the tannic acid in tea helps with nausea? Anyone else read about that? If I am worked up and excited to the point of nausea, a few sips of iced tea puts me right again.
