Uh--Hiroshima did exactly what it was supposed to do, according to the tests.
Thalidomide did not, different family trees notwithstanding. So--in this
sense, Hiroshima was a "smashing" success, and Thalidomide was a disaster,
even though it damaged far less lives than Hiroshima.
As to sugar--it's more along the lines of fine-tuning an engine. Mixture too
rich--you carbon up and stall out. Mixture too lean--you burn the valves.
And there are many other variables within the engine that can keep it from
running properly, so just because it quits, you can't just look at the fuel
mixture. The closer you get to "right" for that given engine (in ALL
aspects), the better it will run...
