I disagree with the herd bound comment. I can ride Phoenix
on the trail by himself and he can't wait to get around the
next bend to see what is happening. He has never been herd
bound. We ride most of the time by ourselves. He has
always loved the trail and probably always will. In fact,
with a group of horses, he must be in the lead. Not the
typical herd bound horse who must follow. He has a very big
heart and will do anything for me. Don't classify him as
being herd bound because of that. To tell you how little
herd bound he is, he will let a group of horses take off
running with him standing there. He could care less, unless
I tell him to run. Good training maybe...but more or less a
horse that knows himself and what he wants to do.
