Re: Cavalry Riding
This subject of solo or cavalry riding really interests me. I didn't
even realize there was such a division. Since I will be riding
crewless most if not all of the time, I'm glad to hear that so many
people are doing it successfully.
Some questions: What, exactly, are the rules of this division? What
are you allowed/not allowed to carry? What do those of you who have
done this deem essential to have on your person, and on the horse?
For those of you who often ride crewless, what do you consider
essential to take on you and the horse? How do you get the
nonessential, but good to have things to the next vet check? What are
the "rules" of riding crewless - basic politeness aside - is it okay
to ask another crew to help carry your things? I guess I'm really not
sure about the etiquette of ride camp, even after riding the faqs I'm
still not sure about the specifics of do's and don'ts.
For those of you in the Southeast, what are the rides you would say
are good for a beginner (horse & rider) riding crewless? Especially
those in the MS, AL, GA, TN area. They would, of course, have to be
rides offering LD.
