Wow Michelle,
What a tirade. A couple of points:
Firstly I think you misinterpreted my opening statement, probably my fault,
typing fast, too much to do & too little time to do it in. It was an
attempt at humour, ie "ohmigod, another newbie, & not even an
American........." Get it??
Firstly I write good English because I am English, although I have pleasure
of living in France so I don't think there is anything you need to tell me
about respect for others. Living in someone else's country teaches you all
of that.
Secondly, I know what Ridecamp is all about. I subscribed because I believe
that the way is always forward & that we can always learn from others.
I subscribe to two other lists, Euroenduro & Aussieendurance, for the same
reasons, healthy constructive & instructive discussion on a "disease" which
has infected us all.
I've been a subscriber to Ridecamp for 3 days & in that time I've read more
abuse & vitriole (in addition to the useful stuff) than in the 6 months or
so that I've subscribed to the other lists. Perhaps here its me that
doesn't get the joke, perhaps these people really do love one another. I do
hope so! Or do they need to read the charter?
So get off your high horse, ride an Arabian instead, they're smaller &
easier to deal with. I am sure that past & future generations of Europeans
are & will be eternally grateful to America for stepping in & changing the
course of the war, but I don't think Ridecamp is the forum for the "whys" &
"wherefores" of this piece of history.
Have a Happy Xmas Michelle.
Heather
