Misunderstood, methinks

Michelle, I think you misunderstood Heather.

When she said "new to the list, not even an American, god forbid,"

I think she was saying that she hoped she was welcome even though she is
not an American and this is a largely American list. What she wrote did
not indicate to me that she has a problem with Americans. If she wrote:
God forbid if I were an American--that would imply the meaning you
interpreted.  I did not find anything offensive in her words.

She did not say she thinks the French are better. She did not even say
she is French--she lives in France, which does not make her French. She
did not say she is not a native speaker of English.

Welcome, Heather. It is fascinating to learn about rides and
horsekeeping in other countries. And your stallion sounds like a good
horse.
