Matthew indeed did ride the 1995 OD cavalry in one of the hottest ODs on
record (mid-90s heat and humidity, first finishers didn't get in until
almost midnight). He was first to finish on his Anglo-Arab Fred when
Jeannie Waldron and Rambo were pulled at the finish. On the Tevis, which
he also won a couple of months later, he had a crew -- Joyce Anderson of
TTEAM and Cloud Nine pads.

III....I think it was the year he won on his tough Moyle/Arab cross and
early in the ride gave up his toilet paper to remark some vandalized trail.>>

John Crandell III and Hybrid Vigor won the OD twice (1997 and 98?) and I
believe were competing Cavalry both times. I believe they also won the
OD Trophy one year and BC the other.
