diabetic horses??
In light of recent discussions about carbohydrates for horses, I have been
dying to know if it is possible for horses to become diabetic in some
situations? I have seen dogs become diabetic on the commercial dog food we
feed to them (or is it not the commercial dog food but the highly processed
and refined human treats that get them??? hmmmm)...is it possible in some
situations where horses are fed a lot of commercial feeds as opposed to
plenty of hay and plain old grain for them to become diabetic? I know it
sounds like a silly question but I had to ask anyway (BTW, my blood glucose
is down 60 points and I've lost 7# watching those carbs myself!). Oh and
before anyone may think otherwise....this question is in no way referring
to carbo loading!! I was thinking in terms of long term feeding of
commercial feeds with little or no hay, especially the ones that have a lot
of molasses in them. Any thoughts or experiences??
