Most large trade shows (Seattle boat show, Seattle home show, etc.) charge
an entry fee. This is usually evaluated on its effect on vendor cost/sales.
The money is going to come from the vendors in higher booth fees are from
the admission fee. There is balancing that takes place here. Too high an
entry fee and attendence and vendor sales drop off. No fee and vendor sales
may drop because they are spending time with lookie loos and not serious
buyers. Too high vendor fee or too low vendor sales and vendors drop out.
The professionals are always doing a balancing act and reevaluating after
every show. And the correct balance for one type of show may not be correct
for another type.
