Worming
We have used cattle injectable Ivomec, orally, top dressed on grain, on all
out horses forever (over fifteen years, at least). We worm every other
month on the first weekend. We have not had any resistance develop, never
had a colic in one of our horses and have had 9-14 horses here for those
years. We started when it was injectable only, then TX A&M found it was as
effective and safer orally, have used it since. (We also use it monthly
for dog heartworm preventative, general worming and have treated heartworms
in rescue dogs with it. We squirt it in their mouths from an insulin
syringe, to get the measurement accurate.) We have found it less costly,
less hassle than paste worming and like having one product that "does it
all". All of our uses have been recommended by our vet.
