Re: Trailer Stories

>>>>>>>I really don't think people really understand how important it is to
tie your horse up in a trailer or a truck. We also use bailing twine off of
hay bales as it is quick and easy to break or cut if there is a problem.
Maureen's Idea of tying up to the outside is a fantastic idea, but sometimes
it is not able.

I am learning to think of all (likely and unlikely) scenarios Then I make a
decision on what to do based on what I feel is best for the situation
despite the fact that someone always has a gory story about why that way
would be a bad idea :) I don't have a slant load so I may not have a good
idea of what tying up to the outside involves but I would hesitate to tie my
horse up to the outside because that would introduce the chance of something
outside the vehicle snagging the rope. Crazy things happen and I like to
keep all parts of my horse and what is attached to them, inside of the
trailer. On my 2 horse bumper pull, I use trailer ties with quick release
snaps and so far this has been working well.
