itchy ears
If the problem turns out to be dry skin rather than mites, you can try
something called Gen-A-Coat, or another similar supplement. I never
thought much about them until I fought skin problems with a dog I had.
She had dry skin and would get hot spots even in the middle of winter --
the whole back half of her back would be one big raw mess. Tried this
stuff called Bio-Coat (a lot of catalogs carry it). Biotin and fatty
acids. The catalog said it was a natural alternative to prednisone
which is the only thing I'd found to help but it ahs its own problems.
Gave it a try and it was amazing. The dog that I'd fought skin problems
with for about 10 years, in 3 weeks was healed! Never had the first bit
of trouble after as long as she was on it. Works well on a friend's
cat's flea allergy too.
Sorry to be so long-winded, but I know there are others out there with
that problem and wanted to know it can be helped! Should work for the
horses too.
