Cribbing???
My question is this - is the horse chewing wood or sucking wind?
Both are referred to as "cribbing". Sucking wind is a habit nothing
with stop as it is an addiction like smoking. My 1/2 Arab pony has
sucked wind since surviving starvation and in her case she did it to
survive. She has done it now for 17 years, never had a health
problem, competed to the advanced level in combined driving and
won her share of trophies. In addition, no other horse has ever
"picked up" the habit from her, including many foals that she baby
sat for in her later years. If it is not bothering the horse, leave it.
Now, chewing down the barn is another thing.
