Re: RC: Hahira / lameness
Well, Angie - you pretty much described similar circumstances for
Nasrif. I could "hear" and "feel" an unevenness develop over time, but
no one could see it and it wasn't a constant thing. Sometimes it was so
subtle as to be barely detectable to even me, when I was so sensitive to
it! Nas was enthusiastic on the trail, and a happy camper in general.
Nasrif was retired without ever being pulled for lameness, but what we
didn't know was he was developing sidebone in that foot all along. That
showed up about 2 or 3 years after we stopped racing him. I don't know
what we could have done differently - don't know that if we'd stopped
racing him from the beginning it wouldn't have developed anyway.
Have you had Kaboot's foot x-rayed? Lif
