and no matter the reason anyone is out there, common sense and safety should 
go hand in hand with common courtesy. I don't want to get hurt and I don't 
want to be the one responsible for hurting YOU - so I ride with caution no 
matter where or when.

Why can't we all get along and just be curtious on the trail regardless of the distance you are doing.  If everybody would practice a little more courtesy the problem would not exist to start with.  The LD's are no different than those doing 50's or 100's they are out there for the love of the sport and other reasons too.
