FEI Horses

I checked with Christy on Tang's (Tais) height. Tang is between 15 and
15.1hh. I would have expected her to be bigger as I have crewed for her
and her substance makes her seem bigger.

Christy considers 15hh her "line in the sand" when she is evaluating a
prospect for FEI competition. She feels many of the international
competitors take the same view and some perfer even larger horses. The
Middle East buyers are looking for 15hh+.

Leonard's observations are very valid--size may be (or at least
perceived to be) an advantage for rides that are more like flat races.
Both Dubai and Pan Am were almost like race tracts. Pan Am's trail was
actually mowed across all vegetated areas. I remember thinking it looked
like a cross country course. Definitely not our OutLaw Trail. One
would expect the qualities required for these differed courses to result
in different horses winning each.

Has anyone ever looked at results to see if the smaller, stocker horses
do better in rough terrain as compared to bigger horses in these faster
more open rides?
