Re: Re: Fwd: LD VS. ENDURANCE
Speaking of ride manners and such....my poor 16 year old who thinks she
might be able to and would like to try to ride endurance next year has NO
ride manners. She is finally getting the posting thing down and doing
fairly well...we did 12 miles last Saturday and 25 on Sunday and I haven't
heard a peep from her this week! But I have to continually remind her of
all those little things that I take for granted having ridden so much with
other distance riders and my younger daughter just having a little more
common sense! It takes patience and I try so hard not to "yell" at
her....she takes every reprimand as yelling even when it's not. We talked
about it and she at least agrees she has a lot to learn so we rode most of
the 25 together (my sister and younger daughter rode together as they
switched horses for the day so my sister could try an Arab...she has a
gaited horse). Anyway, thank God for mentors. I remember being there,
too. I hope my daughter and I can get through trail manners 101 without
killing each other! :) They may have to outlaw mother mentors!
