Barbara, I have to agree that WELL-CONFORMED tall horses do well. But the
problem as I see it is that there are far fewer well-conformed tall Arabs
than there are well-conformed medium-sized Arabs. Breeding for "tall" has
become a real craze in the Arab industry in recent years, and as Dr. Newell
pointed out, they frequently get the height from incorrect conformation. I
don't see the good tall ones having a particular advantage--the good medium
ones win, too. Which just further underscores that people need to look for
GOOD horses and ignore height--GOOD horses of many heights run up front.
