I too would like to see this happen. But now I have to expose my dirty little
secret. I'm not a member of AERC....yet. I don't mind the idea of paying
non-member fees for rides and, as I have indicated in other posts, some of the
other organizations I do belong to serve my "horsey" needs a little better.
And, quite frankly, what JK brought up (above) never even occured to me. Now I
have a compelling reason to join! (Among all of the other reasons that still
had me procrastinating.)
I love the IDEA of getting all of the CTR organizations together like AERC has
done for endurance. But if you think there are regional differences in how
endurance rides are handled, you ain't seen nothing compared to the
differences between the CTR organizations. I haven't participated in rides
outside of my organization, but I have looked at their rules and compared them
to my organization's and there are some BIG differences.
I think it's an interesting idea to have the AERC umbrella over CTR in the US
and Canada, but would AERC be spread too thin then? What are the thoughts of
the people who know the resources (time, energy and $$) of AERC?
