Heidi,
I believe you have said it so very well.
    I thought a 25 was hard.
    I thought a 50 was harder.
    I thought a 100 was "religious."
I thought a multi-day was the perfect endurance format.
THEN, I discovered the HARDEST thing of all was just riding my horse
according to his level of fitness and not being concerned with how far or how
fast "everybody else" was going or what they might "win" (as opposed to what
I wouldn't) or what they might get credit for (as opposed to what I
wouldn't), etc.
IT'S LIKE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD, DRINKING MY CUP OF COFFEE, MAKING MY
CELL CALL, TRYING TO FIND MY FAVORITE CD AND KEEPING MY EYES OUT FOR THE
HIGHWAY PATROL..........RIDING ENDURANCE AND ENJOYING IT FOR WHAT IT IS, IS
DIFFICULT ENOUGH WITHOUT WORRYING ABOUT WHAT EVERYONE ELSE IS DOING, LET
ALONE WHAT THEY 'BELIEVE.'
Frank.
