The cows wade in and out of the swamp, as they please. Our FL bred cattle
are much smaller than the Western type, nmostly a crossbred from the very
hardy, but onery Brahma and a small Hereford, to add weight. We can graze
more cows per acre here in FL, but the forage is poor quality, i.e., we have
lots of scrub!
As for the rattlers and gators we probanbly don't lose too many, in the
overall scheme.
As for the Whip Cracker, if you would ever like to see a demo at a ride, my
husband Stephen is one of the best, at 6'7" he can handle a longer whip. Of
course there may not be many horses left in camp! ;-))
And to appease Steph... it sure makes for some diverse training for our
endurance greenies, with an occasional fartle (runaway cow) thrown in!
See ya,
