Offended? No. I measure my own horses with a measuring stick, but because
of all the erroneous advertising around these days regarding horses' heights,
I can understand a buyer wanting to double check.
On the other hand, I would question the knowledge of such a buyer and wonder
a bit about them, for two reasons. One, I have very little respect for
people who make height an absolute selection criterion, when there are, IMO,
many much more important things to look for--such as overall balance, and for
the larger rider, sufficient substance. Two, once the buyer sees the horse
in person, he/she should be able to tell if the horse is of an appropriate
size simply by standing next to the horse. We spend far too much energy
worrying about an inch or two, and not near enough determining the overall
suitability of the horse to the rider, IMO.
