Hi Rae,
Please share your ride story with us!  Most of the people on this list do not think an LD is not important, they just believe it should be used  as a training tool.   I think everyone agrees that LD's should exist, everyone just has different opinions about the term "Endurance".  Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and it does not mean that you must agree or disagree!  So, please share your wonderful experience about your 1st ride.  Most of us would love to hear it!
LD- a challenge to riders and horses who have never completed a ride that long in their life (!), but finally had the courage to try it anyway.

Well, I've been lurking for a while and I just finished my first 25 mile
ride last weekend.  I was all excited and was going to take the plunge
and tell my story here on ridecamp, since I love reading all of y'alls
stories, but  I think I'll pass now.  After all, since it was ONLY 25
miles, it's obviously nothing important.

Have a care of the impression you give people.  It's almost enough to
make one forget about the sport and go back to riding on their own.
