Neat story. Perhaps this is a way to educate some of those who need
educating.... sing it to them!! I do remember that my poor sister (and
I'll deny I said this if anyone ever repeats it to her...thank God for
cyberspace!) thought that you should go fast in the shade and walk through
sunny stretches of trail. She has a dark horse and she absorbs that sun
very readily!! An experienced rider had told me to trot or lope through
sun to get through faster and then let them slow down and cool off in the
shade. I think this has helped my sister's horse immensely...of course, if
you can choose sun or shade, I would go with the "shady side of the road".
