Hi, Mary.
You and another person both recommended Durakold. If it's okay with you,
I'd like to forward your response to Ridecamp because a couple of other
people are interested. Also, I liked your system and I'm sure they would
too. Let me know if it's okay.

Subject: ice boots
Hi again from Mary Forrester in Oregon, I got durakold boots about 3
years ago. Bought a set of 4 at convention, got them for $90. Regular price
was $100 for 4. I am really pleased with them. They have the sheets of ice
cube looking inserts. I leave them in all the time. I store them in the
freezer in a heavy plastic bag like you would get from a clothing store,
with handles cut into the top edge. When I go to a ride I lift the whole
thing out and put it into an ice chest that I don't use for anything else.
At the ride I use them for about 30 min. They go back in the bag and back to
the ice chest when I'm done. If it is really hot or I'm riding 2 days I put
some of those cold pack things in the ice chest. Before ice boots I used
some things you soak in cold water for a few minutes, and hold them on with
track wraps. I can put ice boots on all 4 legs in the time it took me to do
1 leg. They're really neat. You can follow the cold treatment with a
standing wrap if your horse has a tendency to stock up, and keep wetting it
down with cold water so the leg doesn't heat up from being wrapped.
