Unfortunately, for rides that do a BC award for the LD, order of finish is
part of the scoring formula, is it not?  For those that understand what BC
is all about, finishing first does not a BC make.  I love to see the ride
results for 50s where the BC goes to the tenth place finishes who finished
much later than the first rider in.  However, just food for thought....we
all remember Valerie Kanavy crossed the finish line first in Dubai.  How
many of us can remember who won BC?  Sorry, I can't.  (Before the flames
begin, I am not saying first across the line is what we all need to shoot
for!!!  I am just saying that's who gets remembered!  I personally would
take more satisfaction out of being tenth over the line and getting the
BC!!).
