Old saddle that fits good on a lot of horses

I'm not talking about an old (in years ) saddle, but an endurance saddle
(western type) that has been around for a while and is commercially made. Y'all
around Chattanooga should know about it. It's the American Saddlery No. 800
endurance saddle. I was doing the great saddle search for my 3 yr. and 8 mo.
Russian-Crabbet gelding already 15+ hands. I tried several (Big horn, Abetta)
though trying not to get REAL expensive. A good friend brought over her #800
and it fit like a glove on him and she told me it had also fit several of her
other horses well. My gelding is "slab sided" and thin chested and high sloping
withers. I just ordered one of the #800's from a tack shop in Chattanooga (I
live in Kentucky) as you cannot purchase the saddle directly American Saddlery
they only sell to tack shops. It cost $495.00 and $15.00 shipping to Kentucky
and it's all leather. The skirt is 22 inches from front to back with a 15"
seat and a 6" gullet. I found it fairly comfortable for me. My friend
suggested that when I got it that I should (with her help) switch out the
leather fenders with cordura nylon ones. I can't hardly wait to get it, I'm
riding her saddle until mine comes in.
