We use (glue) them over Eventer rim shoes for our multi-day rides (250 to 285 
miles in five days).  After were done with a multi-day they are still good to 
use for a carry on or a 1 day 50. (Unless we've knock off the buckles or 
broke the cables! :))  I don't know how the rears wear though, we hardly ever 
put Easyboots on the rears.
