Cell phones
Just a word of caution about "carrying":
I purchased a cell phone several years ago to carry with me for
emergencies because I ride for hours alone (I've not had to use it yet,
thank goodness). I always carried the phone in my fanny pack, which
snuggled in the small of my back. Several years ago, during one of our club rides,
a rider came galloping up from behind us. It was the middle of the
summer and the dirt road was like cement. My mare reacted by spinning
(unbalancing me), followed by a decent buck (launching me). I landed on my
fanny pack. The impact of the phone on my spine caused
a disc to move and I lost some riding time from that
incident. I now carry my phone in a seperate carrier on my abdomen.
Figure my chances are better......I've only gone over her shoulder
*once* landing on my stomach & I have more padding there : ( I've
come off on my back much more often...sometimes I even have time to tuck &
roll!
Judy &
MSA Hilary...say, how come we never order take out with that thing?
