Darrell, Try checking your pasture for toxic plants. There are many which can cause swollen legs -- pepper grass is one which comes to mind, which someone on another list found in some hay they'd bought. Try joining the Herbal Horse List at http://www.onelist.com and asking them for advice on what to look for in your geographical area -- they can also refer you to some informative websites to help you learn more about toxic plants which may be growing in your pasture.
