Re: Reaction to Vaccine

This may sound weird but every spring and fall, my gelding will have a
brief reaction to something....don't know what. First spring grass and
usually after our first really hard frost in the fall. On him, his
throatlatch swells up for a couple of days. I noticed our stallion was
sort of "stocked up" in the hind legs during this same period this past
week. None of the other horses do this and there are no other changes in
feed or hay or major events (worming or vaccines) that I could attribute it
to. Don't know if this helps but I have seen this before. Someone
suggested to me that perhaps the frost somehow changes the composition of
the pasture and the "change" causes a disturbance with the digestive
system. Don't know but thought I'd mention it and see if anyone else has
had this experience or anything similar. The incident with my gelding has
been consistent since I got him back about 2 and 1/2 years ago. Hmmmm...
