Sharlene and any who are interested.
Brown masks the blond gene and the red gene (which BTW, is not even on the
same chromosome). In order to be red, you have to be blond; in other words,
you didn't get the brown gene. Brown haired people can carry the blond AND
the red gene. Black is also recessive to brown. All different shades are
the other dilution genes.
Hope this clears things up a bit....unless they have come up with something
new lately let me know!
