young trail horses

Posting for a friend not on-line (I'll relay the messages)...

Seven year-old 14.3H registered purebred Arabian gelding "Kooshka".  Has
been working on trail all this past summer at a kid's camp in VA.  Traffic
safe, very intelligent, good for farrier, curious, great personality, not
too spooky, good bone, beautiful head and neck, great feet, robustly
healthy.  We've ridden him on trails, just walk-trot so far, so good.  I
think he'd be a very good endurance prospect.  He self-exercises in his big
paddock when not being ridden.  Very good price, as he was bought at auction
where all but one other of 7 average-to-nice-looking, sound, Arabs were sold
to slaughter.  $800 to a good home (provide brief description and
references).  I am willing to help my friend by transporting him to you if
within 75 miles of Philadelphia.   Reply for photo, and I'll go take one.
He's being boarded nearby at the place where I have my two older mares up
for adoption.

The other gelding, a lovely-looking ex-racer, was bought by another person
just wanting to get the horse out of the auction.  He was ID'd by his tattoo
as "Dorsey", previously owned by Bill and Cathy Waldron, who just joined the
million-dollar-owner "club" of racing owners.  I don't know how he found his
way to the auction.  Anyway, Dorsey looks like a perfect TB, only smaller
and with an Arabian head and neck.  He's about 14.2H, dark bay, and in race
condition, with lots of nice, hard muscle and clean legs, but a bit finer
than the bigger chestnut.  They probably tried him at one race and decided
he didn't want to be a race horse, but you can contact them to see why he
was sold.  He probably has not been trail-ridden yet.  The owner is asking
