My farrier says the same thing -- he told me to spend a few minutes
brushing Lakota's coronary band every day with a mildly-stiff brush and
said that would help hoof growth.  He also said that the main benefit of
most hoof dressings is that it causes people to brush and massage the
coronary band, and it doesn't really matter what's in your hand when
you're doing it. :)

And Angie, I think you're really off-base  about ichthammol.  That's great
stuff!  You just haven't learned to appreciate the unique texture and
aroma. <BG>
