yep-- garlic -cloves and antioxidants and other herbs  will make the
environment un-suitable for the parasite..and improve the immune system.

that is the concept of the natural herb wormers..
now dont bash.. yes they may not work  and inmany cases do not..because
there are other problems and the horses immune system is compromised by
'other' agents then worms.. 
yes i know all  hype.. but it MIGHT work??
