XP2001

Ridecampers,

Being a newbie to endurance I am clueless about how long it takes to
condition a horse except to know to start slow.  I'm very interested in the
XP2001 ride but I want to be realistic.  I just bought a horse this month
and we're getting to know each other.  I really like him and believe he'll
be great for distance riding.  Am I being totally out in La-La Land to think
we could do the XP2001?  Can you even try it with only one horse?  Could we
both achieve that kind of condition in 2 years?  I will stick to my plan of
taking it slowly, I want to ride this horse for years and years.  But if
it's a reasonable possibility that we could participate in XP2001 then I
will reserve a spot.
