Is it not illegal in California to slaughter horses for human consumption or to transfer horses out of state for slaughter?  It is legal to euthanize horses for pet food.  If Cal Poly intends to sell these horses to killers, then they are breaking the law and many people would be interested in the particulars.  Does anyone have more definite information?
